Mamma Mia! These overalls have had a rough time with the Italians, showing wear and a bit of damage. A good opportunity to pick up some cool camouflage to repurpose or fix em up, though!
The Italian naval amphibious force, the San Marco Marine Brigade had this rockin' camouflage pattern almost exclusively, and is now often called ''San Marco'' camouflage. It's kind of like good old Telo Mimetico but less wiggly. Around the 1950's the modified Telo' pattern was issued and the Navy version had a turquoise-ish base colour - which most of these have. Because some of these have a green base (see third picture), these probably snuck in from the army!
The overalls should (or used to, if they're not present) have a button up front closure, button and tab to sleeves, elasticated (if perished, ruched) ankles and massive cargo pockets to the upper thighs. The fit on these is a little strange, can't tell if dropped crotch or short leg but if you are looking to keep those saucy ankles out of the public eye, it won't hurt to get a longer size than usual. A draw cord to the waist tops off the functionality but everybody knows we're just after a historic pair of overalls that can hide a drop of red, right?
